Craniosacral therapy is a holistic therapy, recognising that the body, mind and emotions all work together to inform our lives.

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY is gentle, safe and effective. It is a suitable for all ages and can help with a wide range of conditions and situations.

Everyday life challenges and periods of stress, have an effect on the body whether we are consciously aware or not. Our body will speak loudly to us when we are becoming out of balance i.e. with pain, uncomfortable digestion, brain fog, overthinking, strong emotions or a general sense of discontent.

The CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY practitioner uses gentle 'light touch' on the body, to work with the source of symptoms on every level: physical, mental, spiritual and emotional.

With CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY the body, mind and emotions are given the opportunity to relax and balance, and during periods of relaxation the body takes the opportunity to heal, restore and energise itself.

What happens in Craniosacral Therapy?

During a Craniosacral Therapy session, which will last for about an hour, the first step is to take some details on your reasons for having a Craniosacral treatment.

Then you can relax, lying down or sitting, in any position that is comfortable for you. You remain fully clothed and have blankets to keep you warm.

The Craniosacral Therapy Practitioner will make light contact with your body: perhaps at the feet, or on the spine, the neck or head. The position of their light contact might change from time to time.

As the session progresses, your body will increasingly relax as tensions and restrictions resolve. The body has an innate ability to balance and harmonise; it works as a whole. So as one part of the body releases tension, other parts can too.

Some clients like to be quiet during a Craniosacral treatment, others like to talk. The Craniosacral Therapy Practitioner will talk to you from time to time, to ensure you are comfortable and relaxed.

After a Craniosacral Therapy treatment most clients take their time to adjust from being in a deep state of relaxation, to getting up and moving into the rest of their day. All clients benefit from drinking plenty of water and taking it easy after their treatment.

Can you diagnose my health problems?

Craniosacral Therapy is not intended as primary healthcare but to work alongside the relationship you have with your doctor or healthcare provider.

What happens in a treatment? Do I need to undress?

During a Craniosacral Therapy session, which will last for about an hour, the first step is to take some details on your reasons for having a Craniosacral treatment.

Then you can relax, lying down or sitting, in any position that is comfortable for you. You remain fully clothed and have blankets to keep you warm.

Are there any contraindications for having Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy's holistic approach, can help with a wide range of conditions and presenting symptoms because it is able to work with the source of symptoms: physical, mental, spiritual or emotional.

Whilst, there are no contraindications for Craniosacral Therapy, precautions do exist and will be discussed prior to your treatment. However, if you are unsure please do contact me and we can talk through any concerns you may have.

How will I feel after a Craniosacral Therapy Session?

After a Craniosacral Therapy session, the body needs time to process and adjust. During this time, which can last 1-3 days, it is normal to experience post-treatment symptoms. This might include you becoming more aware of your presenting condition followed by a gradual reduction in symptoms. Other experiences include: deep relaxation and needing to take time with tasks, fatigue, waves of emotion, vivid dreams, loose stools and clarity on how to move forward

Post-session care will help these symptoms resolve. Post-session care includes: drinking plenty of water, taking a 15min Epsom salt bath or foot bath, spending time outside, walking barefoot on the Earth and taking time to relax.

Please do contact me if you are concerned about any post-treatment symptoms, you can call me any time on 07588 658 721.
